Athlete of the Year Nomination Form

Reminder: The Athlete of the Year is selected from the current senior class. One female and one male athlete are chosen. The goal is to nominate elite athletes who have competed for the school at a high level. Multiple sport athletes will be given preference.

Male Athletes

Henry Buenrostro (Football)

Playing RB/QB Henry was 1st Team All-League for the 3rd consecutive season. He was named the utility player of the year which recognizes the most versatile / athletic player in the league. Henry finish his career 3rd all-time in TD scored in Fremont History.

Connor Armstrong (Baseball/Basketball)

  • 1st team all league 2024-25

  • Baseball Team Captain 11th and 12th grade

  • JV Basketball 10th grade.

Tyler Gray (Baseball)

  • 1st team All League 11th grade year

  • Team Captain 11th and 12th grade

Aarav Rathi (Badminton)

Aarav Rathi has remained V1 Boys Singles for many years in the time he has spent in the Badminton team. He is helpful to other players during games, giving them advice on what to do and motivating them.

FEMale Athletes

Rylan Cashman (Soccer)

Rylan scored a record 45 goals in all games combined. She was 2nd in all of CCS in Goals Scored (1 shy of the leader). She was also unanimously voted the SCVAL El Camino MVP.

She helped the team earn their best record ever and make a run to the CCS semifinals.

Taylor Williamson (Field Hockey/Basketball)

Taylor Williamson has exemplified resilience, leadership, and athletic excellence throughout her high school career. A standout in varsity field hockey and varsity basketball, Taylor’s impact on and off the field has been undeniable. As captain of the field hockey team, she led with strength and determination, earning 1st Team All-League honors and establishing herself as one of the top defenders in the league. Even after suffering a season-ending ACL injury early in the basketball season, Taylor remained a steady source of support and inspiration for her teammates. Her unwavering commitment, grit, and team-first mentality make her a true role model and a deserving nominee for Senior Athlete of the Year.

Aila Duus (Wrestling/Cross Country/Surfing)

  • Four year varsity starting athlete in both cross country and wrestling.

  • Four year varsity starter on Santa cruz Mountain Surf team that competed in the Santa Cruz Scholastic Surf League

  • Four time SCVAL league wrestling finalist/three time champion

  • Four time CCS wrestling medalist/two time finalist/one time champion

  • Three time CIF state championship qualifier

  • Two time CIF wrestling medalist/8th and 6th place
